How to Pick Your Bridesmaids

** A Brief Word from LaDawn**

Platinum Lining Events

It has been a great week for Platinum Lining Events! We have had a number of appointments with potential clients and our 2012 calendar is already filling up!! The great thing about working with Platinum Lining Events is we only do ONE wedding per weekend so we can dedicate all of our attention to YOU whether you are getting married on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Because of that, our calendar fills up quickly.

One of the reason’s I became a wedding planner is because there wasn’t anyone to guide me and give me professional advise/experience in planning my wedding. I made a lot of mistakes, some that cost me a lot of money!!

One of my biggest mistakes was having eight bridesmaids, two Jr. bridesmaids and three flower girls!! What was I thinking? It was crazy trying the juggle all those personalities through the planning and I won’t even tell you about the chaos on the day of my wedding!

Below is my advise on how to choose your bridesmaids!

This weeks Simple to Sensational Tip is:

**How To Pick (And Limit) Your
Bridesmaids!**

Being a bridesmaid is a time honored tradition. Most of you will choose at the very least 1 of your BFF’s to stand up with you on your big day. Choosing the best group of ladies is an important decision in your planning. Your bridesmaids will be the ones to offer you moral support, help you with your planning, throw your shower, help you get ready on your wedding day and wipe your tears. Choose wisely!

Here are some things to consider:

Don’t take this decision lightly, make sure the ones you choose you’ve known more than 2 years, trust and enjoy their company, always have a good time together, but more importantly, you just can’t imagine getting married without her by your side!.

Friends are important, but I believe family should come first especially if you and your sisters/sister-in-laws are close. Friends come and go but family is forever!

The more the merrier is not really the best statement when it comes to choosing your bridesmaids. Too many women, too many opinions, too many people to try and please. I think no more than 4, but do what feels right for you.

Another factor to take into consideration is, can they afford the expense? It costs to be a bridesmaid don’t put someone in an awkward position. If you know it could be potentially a hardship for them, don’t ask.

I don’t think it’s important to have the same number bridesmaids as groomsmen. When you try and do this, sometimes you end up choosing someone you may not otherwise have and that never works out. Do what is best for you.

Fall in Love with Your Wedding

image.jpg

** A Brief Word from LaDawn**

Platinum Lining Events

Today I decided to start my newsletter a little different!

There is a lot happening with Platinum Lining Events and even more in the works. We have just acquired the studio next door to our office and we are really excited about this new space. We are planning to host workshops for brides and grooms and really become a resource for you. Stay tuned our first workshop will be in November! We really want to WOW you this year, and into 2012. Even if you’re not one of our clients these workshops will be a great way to get on track with planning your wedding.

My team and I have been brainstorming ways to help you. We noticed that a lot of brides make the same mistakes when planning their wedding and these mistakes can derail your entire wedding! Brides walk into my office every day mid-plans and upon further inspection we often find (and solve!) mistakes that have been made in their wedding plans. But other times I receive emails from brides telling me about a wedding mishap that they could have avoided if they’d only known to be on the lookout! That’s why we are ramping up to host some workshops to help you not make those costly mistakes!

I can’t wait to share my experience with you! Be on the look out for a personal invitation from me!

Simple to Sensational

I am a big fan of Understated Elegance. I love beautiful things and unique weddings. This weeks Simple to Sensational Tip is:

Fall In Love With Your Wedding Planning!

Becoming engaged and seeing that beautiful ring on your finger is such a magical time but it soon turns into questions from everyone around you…

Here are a few tips to make sure you are planning the wedding of “YOUR” dreams and not what everyone else wants!

  1. Sit down with your fiance and talk about what is MOST important to each of you.
  2. Discuss your budget right away and decide who will be contributing to this budget. Be sure to stay within your financial commitment.
  3. Relax! A relaxed bride is a beautiful bride. A wedding succeeds as long as you end up married at the end of the day. Every thing else is just gravy. This is a huge tip, a lot of brides loose site of this in the middle of their planning.
  4. Create an inspiration board it can be a good road map to keep you focused and not all over the place.
  5. Hire a professional wedding planner because they understand the inner workings of the wedding industry and know intimately how to negotiate with vendors for the best prices and deals. In fact, it is my goal to save you the cost of my services. And best of all, we are skilled at talking to couples and turning their visions of wedding-day bliss into reality.

Veil or No Veil………The Style of the Princess Bride!

There is so much Royal Wedding Buzz! I can’t help but join in on the conversation. Many soon to be brides will be watching to see what Kate Middleton will be wearing, including if she will wear a Veil or Not!

Today’s modern bride is making her own rules, Kate included!! Brides are no longer going with tradition, instead they want every aspect to be personalized with their own style. We all know that Kate is going to become the next trend setter in the Wedding Industry for years to come.

Today’s Modern Bride is wanting something pretty in her hair, but not necessarily a veil.

Headpieces.jpgHair_Accessories.jpg

My sister’s prediction is that Kate will wear a Traditional Long Veil in honor of Princess Diana! I don’t think she will.  What is your prediction? Whether or not Kate decides to do the veil or not one thing is for sure she will be the most beautiful Bride!

If you can’t see The Royal Wedding Live, be sure to TIVO/DVR it, you won’t want to miss this history making wedding event.
